Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including angels, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the party enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This means them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Questers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
