Red Bull Confirms Major 2026 Driver Seats: Hadjar Promoted, 18-Year-Old Arvid Lindblad Secures Grand Prix Debut.

The Red Bull team has announced a new line-up for the 2026 F1 campaign, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his debut Formula 1 seat.

Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the junior outfit VCARB.

These changes means Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive following a five-year stint.

Who is Arvid Lindblad?

Lindblad has been tagged as a rising talent by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.

Regarding the team's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", praising his "pure speed".

Red Bull has been working since last year to ready Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, including runs in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City.

Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", adding: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and rise to it. I can't wait to get started."

Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 this year and is P6 in the championship heading into the final round in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he spun out on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers of the year.

He featured an remarkable top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the drivers' standings.

The team principal said: "Isack has shown great maturity and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can succeed next to Max."

The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "up for the challenge".

The Lawson Decision

For the seat at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda.

The New Zealander started 2025 with the main team but was moved back after just two races. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with some strong performances, convincing Red Bull he deserves more time.

Tsunoda, in contrast, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship.

The driver market moves mean that there remains no spot on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
