Investigative Body
The House investigative committee has released a set of around 70 images obtained from the property of former convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.
This constitutes the third release from a tranche of more than 95,000 photos the body has acquired from Epstein's estate. It includes pictures of excerpts from the book Lolita written across a female's body, and censored pictures of women's overseas passports.
This release arrives mere hours before the 19 December cut-off for the Justice Department to release all documents connected to its inquiry into Epstein.
"These images pose more inquiries about precisely what the Department of Justice has in its holdings," remarked the Democratic lead of the committee, Robert Garcia.
Several of the photos published on recently feature Epstein speaking with academic and activist Noam Chomsky aboard a private plane; Bill Gates positioned beside a female whose features is censored; Steve Bannon positioned at a table opposite Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a evening meal.

These are the newest high-net-worth, influential men to be seen in Epstein estate images released by the committee - previously published images also show US President Donald Trump and former president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, previous US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and other figures.
Showing up in the photos is not evidence of any illegal activity, and many of the featured figures have said they were in no way involved in Epstein's unlawful actions.
In a press release issued alongside the photograph publication, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee noted the Epstein estate did not provide context or timings for the pictures.
"Images were chosen to provide the American people with transparency into a representative sample of the images received from the holdings, and to provide understanding into Epstein's associates and his exceptionally troubling behavior," the release says.

The publication also features several photographs of quotes from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita inscribed in black ink across various areas of a female's body, like her chest, feet, hip, and back. Lolita narrates the account of a adolescent who was manipulated by a older literature professor.
One passage from the work written across a female's upper body reads, "Lo-lee-ta: the point of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the mouth to alight, at three, on the teeth".
There are also a number of images of women's travel documents and official papers from nations globally, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

Most of the details on the IDs, including names and birth dates, is censored but the House Oversight Committee said in a statement that the passports are associated with "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with".
Another photo depicts Epstein sitting at a desk intimately surrounded by three women whose features have been censored - one has her palm on Epstein's upper body under his garment, and a second is leaning to look at a adjacent device. Epstein can be seen to be aiding the third individual put on a piece of jewelry.
Committee
Another photograph released is a capture of SMS messages from an unnamed individual who says they have been provided "some girls" and are requesting "$1000 for each individual".
The panel has thousands of images in its custody from the Epstein property, which are "simultaneously explicit and mundane," its statement on this week noted.
The oversight panel first legally compelled the estate of Epstein, who passed away in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while awaiting trial on accusations of sex trafficking, in August.
The images and records the Epstein property gave to the committee are different than what is often referred to "the Epstein documents". Those are documents under the DOJ's control related to its independent inquiry into Epstein.
Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which the President signed into law recently, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to disclose its records. The extent of what's contained in the DOJ's documents is unclear, and it's probable that a significant portion of the material will be extensively obscured, similar to Congressional materials
