The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.
For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.
West Ham's only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.
My son advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.
However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's home form, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
