Destructive Cyclone Approaches Vietnam Following Causing no Fewer than 114 Lives in Philippines
Before striking in Vietnam, the typhoon left a trail of devastation in the Philippines - and at least 114 fatalities.
Filipino President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has announced a disaster situation - defined by circumstances including significant loss of life, extensive property destruction, and interruption of income sources and the normal way of life for people in the affected areas.
The weather system, called in the region Tino, tore through the populous island of Cebu, submerging entire towns and carrying vehicles down roads.
Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated, with many taking refuge in emergency shelters.
Rescue Relief Operations In Progress
Disaster personnel have started operations as evacuated residents take cover in emergency centers.
The extent of this calamity has led to massive emergency response across the impacted areas.

Rescue workers could be seen engaged in extracting a victim at the site of a landslide in Cebu City.
The typhoon has displaced more than 400,000 people in the Philippines.
Thoroughfares are covered in sediment and pictures display heaps of automobiles spread over the impacted zones.
